近日，海洋世界对外宣布在美国圣地亚哥的主题公园内将建园区内最高、最快的过山车——电鳗过山车。

以鳗鱼水族馆为特色，这个新的过山车将会成为海洋探索园区重要一部分。电鳗主题将利用声、光技术方式呈现，以模拟电鳗过山车以及馆内产生电流时的震撼效果。

这个刺激的过山车将包含回环、盘旋等元素，进入回环时，列车最高离地150英尺（约45.7米），最高速度可达62英里每小时（约99.8公里每小时），为游客带来更多的刺激与惊喜。

据悉，早在去年9月份，美国海洋世界娱乐公司就已经宣布计划把1.75亿美元（人民币12亿1,695万）投资至新的景点建设当中。而海洋世界正紧锣密鼓地进行降低成本，以及搬离海洋哺乳动物景点的工作，节省的成本部分将投资到新的景点项目。

电鳗过山车将于2018年初夏正式对游客开放。

SeaWorld Announces Electric Eel Coaster for San Diego

SeaWorld has announced that the San Diego theme park is to get its tallest and fastest roller coaster – the Electric Eel coaster.

The Electric Eel coaster will open in early summer 2018.  The thrill ride will feature loops, twists, a top speed of 62mph and a 150ft climb followed by an inverted roll.

The new coaster is part of the Ocean Explorer attraction and will feature an eel aquarium.  Electric eel theming will include lighting and sound techniques to simulate the generation of electricity both on the ride and in the plaza.

SeaWorld is undergoing a major cost cutting exercise as well as a move away from marine mammal attractions.  The company announced a $175 million investment programme for  new attractions across all its parks in September 2016.
